Aloha Sushi is a restaurant chain with several locations across Oahu. We love this particular location on Pensacola for several reasons; the service is reliable, the food is consistently fresh, and it’s the equivilent of the neighborhood ‘mom & pop’ corner store in our area that won’t break the bank to treat the whole family (ours is 6). The location is central and easy to get to yet never too full with other people.

The owners, a friendly elderly couple, take orders and slip into the back to make the food on the spot.  You may wait 10 minutes or so as they prepare your order but if you’re short on time you can call-in your order so it’s ready for you when you arrive.  There’s a drug store, grocery, bank, hair salon all within walking distance so you can even run errands while they make your order. Take your food to go or stay and enjoy the air-conditioning and eat window-side at their small table bar w/stool seating. They have a small parking lot in the back and metered street parking is also available along Pensacola.

They serve standard ‘fast-food’ style sushi fare including special order party trays. Lots of hand rolls to choose from including some creative modern twists like the BLT handroll. One of the kids’ favorites is the spam musubi that comes with 2 inari pieces – defintaley a picky-eater pleaser! One of our favorites is the spice dragon roll and the spicy ahi bowl, both come with a side of hot miso soup and cost under $10.  Another family favorite of ours is their melon bubble-tea with the best tapioca balls we’ve had on island to date.

Nothing fancy just simple, good, and fortunately for some us – just around the corner!
