Every year around the world people are dying as countries continue breaking heat records. The main reason why this is happening is because of global warming. If global warming keeps on expanding most life on Earth will die as we know it. I will explain my thoughts on climate change because, in my opinion, I don’t like it.

The main thing you need to know is what global warming is doing to our planet. First, our planet’s sea levels are slowly rising because our atmosphere is getting hotter and melting all of the glaciers. Unfortunately, people don’t really care about it even though soon the world might get flooded in water, and I assume you won’t want to live in the water. Global warming is affecting our plants and animals by changing our weather and environments, killing off our crops, animals, destroying the air, and water.

I live on the island of Oahu surrounded by water. Every day I walk around the island and I constantly see evidence of the rising ocean levels. During very high tides and storms, waves wash on to roads and water pools up from the sewers in low lying areas. Every day I am more and more scared not knowing what will happen in my future. that’s why I try my best not to use things that release to much carbon into the air. Carbon causes something called the greenhouse effect which contributes to rising sea levels.

I forgot to mention that humans are the main source of global warming.  We humans seem like we’re trying to kill ourselves. We make Giant factories that pollute the air and make the Earth even hotter. We waste electricity and resources, and when we pollute the world the animals and plants die. Then we die because we need to get food from animals and plants. If we keep polluting the world soon everything will be gone, so that’s something to worry about.

I know that some people can’t really do much about it but if you can you should. Everyone can help in small ways. You can plant trees, turn off lights when you’re done, save water and try not to use cars or vehicles all the time. The good thing about this is that small changes can add up to make a big difference and hopefully the world won’t be destroyed. So remember to help make the Earth a safer place for you and everyone else.
