Wet-N-Wild is Oahu’s Hawaiian themed water park and the only one in the state. A fun alternative to the salty beaches that can keep you occupied for a full day and be rounded out with their all-you-can-eat Chief’s Lu’au dinner and exciting hula show featuring Polynesian fire dancing. The facilitites include 25 rides for every level of water enthusiast spread out across 25 acres on the hillsides of Oahu’s west side in Kapolei.

Be prepared with sunscreen, the lines will be long on hot days and spots in the shade are limited.  If you want to save money on their expensive low quality food then pack some snacks and sandwiches in a cooler to keep in your car. Outside food isn’t allowed in but you can dash out to the parking lot to eat and re-enter as often as you like. Keeping water on hand is a must and the only edible item allowed inside.

Many rides have height restrictions but there are slides designed for every age. Little ones will enjoy the Water World Kid’s Playground and Keiko Kove.  Those who just like to float and soak can lounge in the large wave pool and make a few rounds in the  lazy river ride called the Kapolei Kooler.  Others looking for thrills have plenty of options with a multitude of slides, and if you’ve got surfing experience you can give da Flow-Rider simulated surf ride a try (or just enjoy a drink at the bar and watch the locals practice their moves).

Wet-N-Wild is located in the town of KAPOLEI, about forty minutes drive to the Waikiki and the park offers shuttle rides to and from Waikiki for $20. See their website for details.
